The Townsville region is a true tropical sport fisherman's paradise. Dave can take you wherever you want to go, but the best fishing is offshore reefs, wrecks and the shoals of Cleveland, Bowling Green and Halifax Bays and beyond. Estuary fishing for barramundi, mangrove jack, salmon and even crabbing can also be arranged.

But when you are in the north, taking on the bigger fish out wide is regarded as the most exciting form of fishing. A typical day in the shoals or wrecks with Dave will include trolling for pelagic fish like spanish mackerel and tuna, and bottom bouncing for a variety of tropical fish including Red Emporer, Large and Small Mouth Nannygai (Red Snapper), and Coral Trout, as well as regularly hooking up with a huge variety of the hard fighting Trevally and the rare Cobia (Black Kingfish).

Customers are welcome to bring their own gear, but Dave provides all fishing equipment as part of the charter. Dave uses quality rods coupled with reels such as TLD20s and TI50 Okumas, which are suited for mackerel to small marlin and sailfish. Heavy handlines are used for reef and shoal fishing for large reds. Light tackle spin gear is always ready to go when the schools of pelagils appear.
